PURPOSE:To obtain a knob having an excellent appearance and high quality by constituting a molding with a spring making material having an almost U-shape and fitting the molding in a molding fitting groove installed in the surrounding walls of the knob main body by utilizing the elasticity of the material and, at the same time, detaining a detaining section installed to a part of the molding with the knob main body. CONSTITUTION:The main body 2 of a knob 1 fitted to the operating lever L of an automatic transmission is composed of a handle section 2a and fitting section 2b to the lever L and formed in such a way that an operating button 3 is fitted to one side wall of the handle section 2a and a molding fitting groove 4 extended in an almost U-shape is installed in the surrounding walls of the handle section 2a except a part where the button 3 is fitted. The main body 2 is formed by covering the surface of a metallic core material 10 with a covering material 11 made of vinyl chloride, etc., and a molding 15 is formed to have an almost U-shape corresponding to the shape of the groove 4 from a spring steel. At the front end of the leg sections 15a and 15a facing each other of the molding 15, hook sections 15b and 15b are formed by bending. The hook sections 15b and 15b are engaged with detaining grooves 4a and 4a located at both ends of the groove 4 when the molding 4 is fitted in the groove 4. Therefore, the appearance and quality of the knob can be maintained under excellent conditions. |
