PURPOSE:To automatically adjust shoe-clearance, by providing an adjuster having one end connected to a stationary member so that it may move in the braking direction of a shoe and the other end associated with the shoe side through a gap corresponding to the shoe-clearance. CONSTITUTION:One end of an adjuster 6 for adjusting shoe-clearance is supported to a stationary member 4 through a resisting means R so that it may move in the braking direction of a shoe 2, and the other end of the adjuster 6 is associated with the shoe 2 side through a gap corresponding to the shoe-clearance. In the case of that the shoe 2 is worn and the shoe-clearance is excessive, an anchor 5 is swung upon braking operation over a deviated amount corresponding to the abrasion amount of the shoe 2, exceeding a predetermined swinging space. Then, one end face of an adjusting hole 51 moves to adjust a guide pin 62 on the adjuster 6 over an adjusting amount corresponding to the deviated amount of the shoe 2, overcoming the resistance of the resisting means R. With this arrangement the shoe-clearance may be always maintained at a constant value. |
