Disclosed is an electric power generation apparatus for storing and reusing kinetic energy of a train by converting the kinetic energy into electric energy, which is installed to a side frame near a wheel of a train traveling along a rail and is operated by interworking with a train wheel on acceleration while moving together with the train in a train traveling direction. An electric power generation apparatus for reusing kinetic energy of a train includes an acceleration device (200) which is disposed at a middle portion of a wheel rotation shaft (30) of a train so that the acceleration device (200) is coaxially rotated with the wheel rotation shaft (30), and an auxiliary acceleration device (300) which has a main shaft (310) extending in a transversal direction and disposed between side frames (20) installed between the train wheels (10) while extending in a rail direction. The auxiliary acceleration device (300) receives rotation driving force from the acceleration device (200) through a chain or belt, so that the auxiliary acceleration device (300) is rotated. The auxiliary acceleration device (300) includes a gear box, a generator and a controller therein and is electrically connected to an external battery or a power supply of the train.
