The device for conveying dust-like material, especially fly ash and cement, into or out of a silo is equipped with a screen in the conveying line, which screen is inclined in such a way that its upper edge is located upstream of its lower edge. As a result of this, the screen has an effective cross section which is greater than that of the conveying line. Losses of pressure are avoided to a substantial extent in this way. The material which is retained by the screen does not stick to it, but falls to the bottom, where it does not get in the way and can be removed as required. <IMAGE>
