USE:An antifungal agent such as mildewcide, antitrichophytial agent, an agent to destroy fungi belonging to the genus Candida, etc. PREPARATION:For example, the body wall of Holothuria pervicax is extracted with a lower alcohol such as methanol, etc. under heating, the extract is desalted, separated and purified by silica gel chromatography, etc. to give pervicoside A (namely, compound shown by the formula V) wherein the group R<1> of the formula I is -SO3Na, and the group R is shown by the formula II, pervicoside B wherein the group R is shown by the formula III, and pervicoside C wherein the group R is shown by the formula IV. Pervicosides A-C are desulfated to give compounds wherein the group R<1> of the formula I is H. |
