In the tracking devices specified in the main application, a special, non-uniform rotary movement is often desirable in order to achieve precise tracking. The use of a cardan joint makes it possible to generate the desired non-uniform movement from a uniform drive. The solar device 1 shown diagrammatically in Figure 3 is aligned with the position of the sun by the tracking device, the drive 23, which rotates with constant angular velocity or clock frequency, initiating the movement about the vertical axis 2 by means of the cardan joint 21. <IMAGE>
