PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a favorable steering feeling to be obtained by alleviating flutter vibration transmitted to a steering wheel in a simple structure.SOLUTION: A rack shaft guide 22 provided in a rack shaft support mechanism 20 is in a slidable contact with a shaft rear face part 8b of a rack shaft 8, and the rack shaft guide 22 receives energization force of an adjustment spring 24 to press a rack 8a on a pinion 5a side. A shaft rear face part 8c in a range of a predetermined steering wheel angle θL-θR from a rack center (θs=0) in the shaft rear face part 8b is formed higher by a height Δh. Accordingly, the spring pressure of the adjustment spring 24 increases when the part passes the rack shaft guide 22, so that frictional force μ increases to alleviate flutter vibration transmitted to a steering wheel 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
