Valve for opening and closing a pipeline

In a valve comprising a valve housing made of electrically nonconducting material, a heating grid is incorporated in the valve housing perpendicularly to the flow direction and impermeably coated with a material. Suitable as the material are those materials which have a melting point of between 20 DEG C and 150 DEG C, for example wax, paraffin or solder material. The valve is opened by means of a control circuit which activates the heating grid electrically, thereby heating the material sealing the heating grid to liquefaction. <IMAGE>
