PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as an intermediate of the additive for rubber vulcanization, rust-proofing agents for metal, dyes, agricultural chemicals, pharmaceuticals, etc., easily at a low cost, by reacting an aniline compound, a cyclohexanone compound and hydrogen at a specific temperature in the presence of a Pd catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A cyclohexylamine compound consisting of phenylcyclohexylamine or its nucleus-substituted derivative and/or dicyclohexylamine or its ring- substituted derivative can be prepared by reacting (A) aniline or its nucleus- substituted derivative of formula I (R<1> is alkyl, arylalkyl, alkoxy, amino, etc.; m is 0-5) (e.g. aniline), (B) cyclohexanone or its ring-substituted derivative of formula II (R<2> is alkyl or alkoxy; n is 0-5) (e.g. cyclohexanone) and (C) hydrogen in the presence of (D) a Pd catalyst (especially preferably Pd supported on activated carbon), at room temperature -160 deg.C, preferably at 50-140 deg.C. The reaction is preferably carried out in an organic carboxylic acid solvent under a hydrogen pressure of >=0.1kg/cm<2>. |
