PURPOSE:To enable to control a throttle valve mechanism in a highly accurate and safe manner, by controlling one of two throttle valves by means of an electronically controlled actuator, and controlling the other through depression of an accelerator pedal by use of a mechanical link mechanism. CONSTITUTION:An electronically controlled actuator 3 is attached to one (1) of two throttle valves 1, 2 provided in a throttle body 8. The opening of the valve 1 is controlled by a driving circuit 13 and a control circuit 12 for calculating a control signal from various signals representing the operational conditions of an engine which are furnished to the control circuit 12. On the other hand, the other throttle valve 2 is connected to an accelerator pedal 5 mechanically by a wire 6 so that it is controlled through depression of the accelerator pedal 5. By employing such an arrangement, accurate control can be achieved by the electronically controlled throttle valve, and a fail-safe function can be obtained by the mechanically controlled throttle valve. |
