PURPOSE:To restrict deviation between spark advance angle and actual ignition by a method wherein a time for converting an ignition signal is obtained from a time between the cycles of the engine and the time for returning the ignition signal is obtained from a crank angle to a point whereat the ignition signal is to be converted and a time between pulses at every crank angles immediately before returning of the ignition signal. CONSTITUTION:The (rise-up) time for converting the ignition signal is obtained in accordance with the time between the cycles of the engine and it is controlled by a time from a predetermined angle (100 deg.CA, for example). The (breaking) time for returning the ignition signal is obtained by a dwell time utilizing the time between crank angle signals immediately before the trailing of the signal and the signal is returned when the dwell time has elapsed from the time of rise-up. According to this method, the ignition timing and the spark conducting angle may be controlled correctly even though the revolving number of the engine is changed suddenly.
