In a process for hot pressing of moulded pieces, in particular feedstuff pellets, to avoid faults during the pressing process, the press mass is treated with superheated dry steam at 1 to 2 bar, which is superheated from a high pressure saturated steam of approximately 11 bar by branching off a part of this saturated steam at its temperature. To carry out the process, a plant is proposed in which a heat exchanger is arranged between a steam generator, supplying a high pressure saturated steam of approximately 11 bar, having a pressure reduction device for production of a low pressure saturated steam of 1 to 2 bar, and the press for producing the feedstuff pellets, the secondary part of which heat exchanger is connected on the one side to the reduction device, and on the other side to the press and through which flows the low pressure steam and the primary part of which is connected to the steam generator and through which flows part of the high pressure saturated steam, the heat exchanger being designed as a module having the reducing device and all inlets and outlets and the necessary control means. |
