PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of an output restricting valve and limit the maximum output effectively by a method wherein an output restricting exhaust gas recirculation device is provided between an exhaust gas system and a suction air system while an exhaust gas recirculating path is provided with a valve device, in the engine for vehicle. CONSTITUTION:The exhaust pipe 2 of the engine main body 1 is communicated with a turbine 3a of the supercharger 3. The compressor 3b of the supercharger 3 supercharges air. The output restricting exhaust gas recirculating device 10 is provided between the exhaust gas system and the suction air system. The valve device 13 is provided in the exhaust gas recirculating path 12. When an output is to be restricted, the valve device 13 is opened by utilizing a supercharging pressure to recirculate exhaust gas into the suction air system and reduce the amount of mixture thereby restircting the output of the engine. Thus, the valve device 13 is provided at a place, remote from the exhaust gas system and the temperature thereof is low, therefore, thermal troubles are not so much and the reliability of the output restricting valve may be improved. |
