PURPOSE:To avoid the overheating caused by the temperature rise of insulating medium and a tank wall by a method wherein coolant is let flow in cooling ducts built in the windings and in the exposed shield attached to the outermost circumference of the winding for cooling. CONSTITUTION:Hollow shields 21a, 21b are attached to the top and bottom ends of the outermost circumference of a high voltage winding 5. The shields 21a, 21b are exposed so as to get contact with insulating medium in a tank 13 and are connected continuously by a cylindrical hollow duct 21c which is provided so as to encircle the outermost circumference of the high voltage winding 5. The shields 21a, 21b are connected to the high voltage winding 5 so as to be equipotential to it and also connected to waveguides 11 by insulating pipes 22a, 22b. With this constitution, the insulation medium between the high voltage winding and the tank can be directly cooled by getting contact with the shields so that the overheating caused by the temperature rise of the insulating medium and the tank wall can be avoided. |
