DISPLACEMENT DETECTOR OF RAM IN DIE CASTING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To detect always exactly and easily the displacement of a ram of a die casting machine by supporting the rod which follows up said ram by means of springs and rollers to maintain the specified gap between a magnetic scale and a detecting head. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic scale 13 is fixed to a rod 12 which follows up the ram 3 of a die casting machine 4 and is supported freely slidably by detecting head bodies 21. A detecting head block 22 having a magnetic detecting head 15 is disposed between the bodies 21. The block 22 is support afloat by means of compression coil springs 25 disposed to several shafts 28 fixed to a block mounting seat 29. Roller arms 27 are attached to the block 22 and freely rotatable rollers 26 are provided to the top end thereof to support the rod 12 in such a way that the rotating plane of the rollers 26 is directed toward the central part of the rod 12. The gap DELTAt between the scale 13 and the head 15 is thus maintained constant at all times.
