PURPOSE:To obtain the granule of the titled compound having remarkably suppressed dusting tendency and high industrial value, by using crystal of the titled compound having specific composition in terms of the particle size and moisture content, and granulating and drying the crystal. CONSTITUTION:2-Hydroxynaphthalene-3-carboxylic acid (BON acid) crystal having particle diameter of <=100mu (preferably <=60mu), containing >=10% (preferably about 20-70%) of particles finer than 20mu, and a moisture content of 13-30% (preferably 17-25%) is granulated and dried to obtain granules of BON acid. The granule has excellent properties, and is resistant to be disintegrated to the original fine crystal powder of BON acid even with a moderately strong impact force. EFFECT:The production cost is equal to the cost of the conventional process for the production of BON fine powder.
