NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (m is 1-2; R1 is H, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxyl, lower haloalkyl or lower haloalkoxyl; n is an integer 0-4; R2 is H, CH3, F or Cl; R3 is halogen, allyl, propargyl, methoxymethyl, cyano, nitro, CF3 or acetyl). EXAMPLE:4'-Methoxymethylbenzyl 2-methyl-2-(4-chlorophenyl)propyl ether. USE:An insecticide and acaricide, which is a solid or liquid at ordinary temperature, soluble easily in organic solvents in general, used as application insecticides or fumigation insecticides or mosquito-repellent incenses, stabler to light, having a wider insecticidal spectrum and lower toxicity at a lower cost than the conventional pyrethroid, and usable as agricultural and horticultural insecticides. PREPARATION:An alcohol expressed by formula II or a reactive derivative thereof is reacted with an alcohol expressed by formula III or a reactive derivative thereof to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I .
