PURPOSE:To obtain the titled anhydrous alcohol, economically, by heating the liquid in the first concentration column with the compressed column-top gas of the column, and at the same time, heating the atmospheric and azeotropic distillation column and the solvent recovery column with the column-top vapor of the second concentration column operating under pressure, and supplying the condensation liquid obtained after the heating to the second distillation column. CONSTITUTION:The column-top vapor 2 of the first concentration column A operating under normal pressure is compressed with the compressor G attached to the column A, and the body of the column A is heated (E-2) with the compressed gas 2'. A part (4) of the condensed liquid obtained after the heating is supplied to the second concentration column B, and the remaining part (3) is recycled to the top of the column A. The distillation column B is operated under pressure. The azeotropic distillation column C and the solvent recovery column D both of them are operated under normal pressure are heated (E-4, E-6) with the column-top vapor 5 of the column B, and a part (7) of the condensed liquid obtained after the heating is recycled to the top of the column B and the remaining part (8) is fed to the column C. The bottom liquid 23 of the column B is recycled to the column A. Anhydrous ethanol 11 can be produced directly, with low energy consumption, from a dilute and slurry raw material of ethanol 1.
