Device for aligning a part (12) and a substrate (10) provided to receive the part. The device comprises particularly a plate (2) having a horizontal plane upper surface (3) on which a table XY (5) may slide, a locking device (16) to momentarily prevent any translation motion of the table XY (5) but letting it free to rotate about a given vertical axis (4), a gripping device (11) and an optical viewing device (15). The locking device (16) is preferably comprised of an electromagnet rotatingly mounted in a bore of the plate (2).
