The invention relates to a binocular draw tube for optical instruments, preferably for microscopes. The aim of the invention is to ensure a smooth and sensitive change in the interocular distance by displacing the two eye pieces with respect to one another. During the displacement of the eye pieces perpendicular to their optical axes, the former must be moved simultaneously along the optical axes in order to keep the tube length constant. This is performed with the aid of pins guided in guide grooves. The object that is to be achieved consists in configuring the guide of the pins in such a way that a force counteracting the displacement force of the carriage is minimised. According to the invention, the object is achieved when each guide groove assigned to an eye piece is sunk into a lever which is displaced together with the respective other eye piece perpendicular to the optical axis thereof, and the guide grooves are inclined by 26.56 DEG . <IMAGE>
