PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for machining off the mis-match, etc. produced on a projecting part by forming a recess in the position inclusive of a parting plane of split dies for forming a casting by being cast therein with a molten metal and forming the projecting part along the parting plane. CONSTITUTION:A cavity part is formed of split dies consisting of the 1st die 7A and the 2nd die 7B and a recess 9 is formed in the position inclusive of the parting plane 8 of the die 7A and the die 7B. A molten metal is cast in the cavity, by which a casting is formed and a belt-like projecting part is formed along the parting plane 8 of the split dies. Since a step 9B is formed on the plane 8, a mis- match 12 formed within the range of the step 9B does not project to the surface of the projecting part 11 and therefore finishing is not required. |
