The present invention relates to a method of detecting an adjacent object, an apparatus for detecting the adjacent object using the same, a method of detecting a touch, and an apparatus for detecting the touch using the same, capable of detecting a touch made by an object and reducing noise. According to the present embodiment, an apparatus for detecting the adjacent object includes a touch panel, a detection unit, and a driving unit. The touch panel includes first and second capacitance sensors. The detection unit detects the approaching of the object. The driving unit provides driving signal pairs having different current values to the first and second capacitance sensors, respectively, and provides proximity signal pairs, which are formed by providing the driving signal pairs to the first and second capacitance sensors, to the detection unit. The detection unit detects the capacitance of the first capacitance sensor and the capacitance of the second capacitance sensor from the proximity signal pairs. |
