PURPOSE:To make it possible to easily control ink properties, by controlling the concn. of inorg. salts contained in the ink while recording a dye concn. CONSTITUTION:In a dye purifying apparatus 2, an aqueous dye solution consisting of a powdery dye and pure water is controlled by a salt reducing filter so as to bring the concn. of inorg. salts therein to a predetermined value and the dye concn. thereof is also controlled while the treated dye solution is stored in a storage tank 52. This dye solution is mixed with a water soluble org. solvent, an additive and pure water through valves 6-8 in a predetermined ratio under stirring in a preparation tank 1 to prepare desired ink. In this case, the liquid amount and the concn. of inorg. salts of the ink are detected by detection parts 10, 12 while the dye concn. thereof is detected according to a spectrophotometric method by a detection part and the detected value is recorded. Therefore, the property control of the ink can be performed on the basis of recording and the ink for ink jet recording having stable quality can be obtained. |
