PURPOSE:To prevent damages of each machine and device unit in a device during maintenance operation by enclosing a photosensitive drum with a protective drum at the positions in which the drum faces a transfer electrostatic charger and a separating roller, and interlocking this covering movement with the withdrawing movement of conveying means. CONSTITUTION:When a front door 24 opens, a protuberance 25 rises along a locus as shown in a chain line, and a lever 21 turns anticlockwise around an axis 23. Accordingly, a transfer guide 7 turns around an axis 7a and lowers, and also a transfer charger 8 and a separation roller 10 descend. A conveyance guide 11 turns around an axis 11a and descends. On the other hand, a lever 26 is turned by the rotation of the lever 21, and a gear 30 engaged with this is turned clockwise. At the same time, an arm 31 is turned to pull a cover 20 rightward, and it is moved rightward till covering a photosensitive drum 3. As a result, each unit of machines and devices is protected from damage during a maintenance operation. |
