PURPOSE:To obtain a mooring cable in which the outer material wires fasten its core upon application of impact and thereafter recovers its original condition under the reaction force of the core to absorb impact force, by providing such an arrangement that a thick resilient core material having a circular cross- section is inserted in a part of the wire to wrap the core material with the material wires in a bobbin shape. CONSTITUTION:Preapring a rope 1 which is formed by tightly braiding or bundling several material wires 3, the rope 1 is inflated in a bag-like form by enlarging gaps between the material wires 3, and then a high resilient core material 4 having a circular cross-section is disposed in the core section of the rope 1 to form a bobbin type damping section 2. When impact is applied to the rope 1 or cable, the outer material wires 3 are elongated while they fasten the core material 4. Then, the rope 1 recovers its original condition under the reaction of the core material 4 to effectively absorb impact force.
