PURPOSE:To shorten the time for measurement without requiring labor by installing an electrostatic capacity type moisture meter to a hopper and measuring automatically the moisture at every charging of coal. CONSTITUTION:When coal 13 is charged into a hopper 1, a hydraulic pipe 12 is actuated to extend a cylinder rod 7 as shown by a dotted line and to press an electrode part 4 of an electrostatic capacity type moisture meter to the surface layer of coal 13 thereby detecting the change in current value and measuring the moisture. Compressed air 10 is blown from a pipe 11 upon the end of the measurement to blow off the coal sticking on the electrode part and to dry said part by driving off the moisture therefrom. The rod 7 is reset to the home position and is kept standing by till the next charging of the coal. The need for labor is thus eliminated and the time for the measurement is shortened. |
