PURPOSE:To prevent foams in a coating fluid reservoir and unevenness and sags of a resin layer and a photosensitive layer in forming them by arranging partition walls having spaces for fluid flow and extending upward and downward alternately in the upper and lower parts of the reservoir. CONSTITUTION:A device for coating a photosensitive body comprises a coating bath 3 for immersing the substrate of a photosensitive body in the bath 3 and forming a resin layer and a photosensitive layer on the substrate, a coating fluid reservoir 5 provided with partition walls 12, 13 extending upward and downward alternately in the lower and upper parts of the reservoir 5 and having spaces for fluid flow, and a device for circulating a coating fluid 11 between the bath 3 and the reservoir 5. The uniformity of the coating fluid 11 is maintained by circulating it through the bath 3 and the reservoir 5, but when the circulation speed is too high, foams are produced in the fluid 11. Since such foams tend to gather in the upper parts of the reservoir 5, the air of the foams gathering in the upper parts between the walls 12 and adjacent to it thus arranged is exhausted through holes 16 to prevent the coating fluid to be fed from the reservoir 5 to the bath 3 from contg. foams, thus preventing unevenness and sags of the applied film, and white and black streaks on the film, too. |
