PURPOSE:To control surely the rotation of a member which is rotated together with an input shaft in the neutral state, by operating a resistance giving means when the selecting operation to a reverse row is performed by a control lever. CONSTITUTION:For the purpose of backing a vehicle in the forward running state, a clutch is turned off, and a control lever 21 is selected and operated to a 5-speed reverse row through the neutral N position. In this case, the resistance giving means such as a movement extent controlling recessed part or the like of a shift fork 18f for reverse is operated to perform the synchronizing action between a balk ring 18c and a clutch gear 18d. As the result, the rotation of a 5-speed gear 15 and a counter 5-speed gear 9 is suppressed by the frictional resistance, and they are made stationary. In this case, the gear 9 is interlocked with other gears or the like and an input shaft 2 through a shaft 5, and the member which is interlocked with the shaft 2 in the neutral N state is made stationary.
