A multi-color printer for a can consists of at least two ink ducts and several ink pattern rollers. The first ink duct(30a) places the first color of ink on the first sector(132) of the pattern roller(33) , which has the same length as the circumference of the can, and the second ink duct(30b) continues the same action with the second pattern on the neighboring sector(35). The can is rotated the same number of times as the rotations of the ink ducts, so that each pattern layer of the roller is transferred to the surface of the can.
