PURPOSE:To enable to control the stopping of a stepping motor without requesting the accurate position setting of a position detector by enabling to stop a drive shaft effectively to a specific rotating angle by employing, for example, a plate as the position detector. CONSTITUTION:A platelike detector 5 is, for example, engaged fixedly with a drive shaft 1, and a ?-shaped frame 4 disposed oppositely to a light emitting unit L and a photoreceptor F to be interposed at both sides of a rotary path of the detector is secured onto a carrier (not shown) for placing a stepping motor M. Then, the photoreceptor F is turned ON by the emission of the unit L, and when the detector 5 interrupts between the unit L and the photoreceptor F, it is constructed that the photoreceptor F becomes OFF. The detecting state of detecting means become like figures (a)-(f), the detection signals are calculated by a CPU (not shown) as prescribed to stop a stepping motor M at the prescribed rotary angle.
