The present feature relates to a signal processing device, a signal processing method, a program, an electronic device, and an imaging element that allow the accuracy of phase detection autofocus (AF) to be improved. The light receiving surface of an imaging element that captures an image is constituted of a plurality of pixel groups, and each of the plurality of pixel groups are represented by a representative point. A conversion factor, a defocusing offset, and a reliability threshold are determined for each representative point. The conversion factor is used to convert the phase difference between two images obtained from partitioning the exit pupil of the imaging optical system into a defocusing amount which represents the amount of deviation in the focus. The defocusing offset is the difference between the position of the lens if focusing using phase detection autofocus and the position of the lens if focusing using contrast detection autofocus. The reliability threshold is used to determine whether or not the phase difference is reliable. A defocusing amount is determined by using the conversion factor, the defocusing offset, and the reliability threshold. This feature can be applied when performing phase detection autofocus. |
