PURPOSE:To obtain a stereoscopic picture simply with excellent fidelity by picking up an object by left/right image pickup cameras, switching each video signal alternately at each screen or on the way, outputting the result to a picture output device and observing a reproduced image of the picture output device through an optical shutter glass whose left/right sides are switched synchronously with the changeover. CONSTITUTION:A picture processing device 13 processes video signals of television cameras 12, 12a and sends a vertical synchronizing signal for monitor together with the video signal to terminals (a, b) of an adapter 20. An electronic switch S1 is switched alternately by the vertical synchronizing signal and the optical shutter glass 15 is made transparent alternately to the left and right by a battery 22 and the left/right video signal is selected alternately by the electronic switch S1 depending on the turning-on of a switch S2. Since the picture of the left camera 12 is observed by the left eye and the picture of the camera 12a is observed by the right eye alternately within the residual image time, the resulting picture is observed as a stereoscopic picture. |
