PURPOSE:To equalize both amplitude distortion and delay distortion by adding/ subtracting a same phase control signal and a rectangular intersection control signal corresponding to transversal type equalizers and generating control signals to respective equalizers for the amplitude distortion and delay distortion. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate frequency signal from a terminal 106 is inputted to a demodulating means 42 through an adaption type equalizing means 39 consisting of a secondary delay distortion equalizer 15, a primary delay distortion equalizer 16, a secondary amplitude distortion equalizer 17, and a primary amplitude distortion equalizer 18. Demodulated signals DP, DQ, error signals YP, YQ and clock signals are outputted from the means 42 simultaneously with a demodulated output signal and these signals are inputted to a control signal generating means 41. The means 41 generates same phase control signals Re(-1), Re(+1) corresponding to the transversal type equalizer and rectangular intersection control signals Im(-1), Im(+1), and inputs these signals to an adding/ subtracting means 40. The means 40 adds/subtracts respective control signals and outputs the mean value to control respective equalizers 15-18 of the means 39 to equalize the amplitude distortion and delay distortion.
