PURPOSE:To economize a conduction/crosstalk testing device by decoding a test signal transmitted to a core of a cable and an output signal obtained by receiving said test signal in the same format and comparing the codes of both signals. CONSTITUTION:When a switch circuit 4 sets up the number of cores of the cable 1 and sends a start signal to a control circuit 5', the circuit 5' sends a forward signal to a counting circuit 6 and the circuit 6 outputs an output code to a decoder 7. The decoder 7 converts the code and sends selected signals for respective cores successively to the cores 1-1-1-4 through gates 8-1-8-4 and a connector 2. The transmitted signal is received by gates 10-1-10-4 successively through a connector 3 and the outputs of the gates are sent to an encoder 19. The encoder 19 decodes the received signals in the same format as the output code of the circuit 6. A comparator 20 compares the decoded code with the code of the circuit 6 and the circuit 5' decides the quality of the cable 1 on the basis of coincidence/dissidence of the compared result and displays the decided result on a display device 17. A comparator 18 compares the set value of the circuit with the value of the circuit 6, and when both the values coincide with each other, the test is ended. |
