PURPOSE:To provide a herbicidal composition containing a specific alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylic acid and 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole or their salts as active components, and exhibiting very rapid and extremely strong herbicidal activity and synergistic effect. CONSTITUTION:The objective herbicidal composition contains, as active components, (A) one or more alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylic acid derivatives of formula I [R<1> is 1-15C aliphatic hydrocarbon group; R<2> is H, halogen or 1-7C hydrocarbon group; R<3> is group of formula -XR<4> (X is O or S; R<4> is H or 1-10C hydrocarbon group) or amino group of formula II (R<5> and R<6> are H or 1-10C hydrocarbon group or together form a ring)] (e.g. 2-n-decenoic acid) and its functional salts and (B) one or more compounds selected from 3-amino-1,2,4- triazole and its functional salts. A part of or the whole components (A) and (B) may together form a salt.
