PURPOSE:To obtain a high level of reproduction signal and a high S/N ratio by using two head chips to form a magnetic head for reproduction and making the reproduction signal of one side delayed in terms of time and superposing it onto the other reproduction signal. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head is provided with a base 1, a printed base board 2 and two head chips 4 and 5. A copper wire 6 is wound around the chips 4 and 5 and connected to the terminal of the board 2. The gaps 7 and 8 of magnetic heads 4 and 5 positioned before and after respectively in terms of time are formed so that they are set on the same track (b) as shown in the figure when a tape is driven toward (a). The gap space (c) is set at 370mum for examle. The tape is driven toward (a) at a 5.8m/sec speed, and the reproduction signal of the head 4 is delayed by 64musec by a delay line and superposed on the reproduction signal of the head 5. Thus it is possible to obtain an output of 1.83 times as much as the signal obtained by a magnetic head as well as a signal having an S/N higher by about 3dB. |
