PURPOSE:To build up a swirl in a precombustion chamber and thereby improve the combustion capacity of an engine, by forming a part at the installation side of an injection valve into a semispherical surface form and a part at the side of a main combustion chamber into a cylindrical form respectively, in a combustion chamber mouthpiece to form the precombustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:An internal thread hole 12 for fuel injection valve setting use, a partial spherical surface-form concave part 13 for rear chamber forming use and a mouthpiece setting hole 14 are all formed in a cylinder head 11, while a fuel injection valve 15 is screwed into the internal thread hole 12, and the said valve 15 is positioned for inclination at a fixed angle alpha. A combustion chamber mouthpiece 16 is made up of two members 16a and 16b located at the upper and lower sides in junction and fitted in the setting hole 14 from the side of a main combustion chamber 19, while it makes up a precombustion chamber 22 consisting of a front chamber 17 and a rear chamber 22 by means of the inside of this mouthpiece 16 and the cylinder head concave part 13. And, a part 22a at the side of the injection valve 5 of the rear chamber 22 is formed into a semispherical surface form while another part 22b at the side of the front chamber 17 into a cylindrical form respectively, whereby a ratio of the length L2 of the precombustion chamber 22 to the diameter D2 of the part 22b is made larger than that heretofore in use. |
