GROWTH PROMOTING COMPOSITION FOR ANIMAL

PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition containing a polynactin complex and olaquindox or colistin as active components, and having excellent growth promoting effect. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition for promoting the growth of animal, contains (A) one or more compounds of formula (R1-R4 are lower alkyl) and (B) olaquindox or colistin as active components. It is already known that the polynactin complex of formula has growth promoting effect to animal, and olaquindox and colistin are effective to promote the growth of pig and chicken. The combined use of both compounds gives higher growth promoting effect than the separate use of each compound. The amount of olaquindox or colistin is 50- 0.01pts. per 1pt. of the compound of formula. The rate of administration to animal is e.g. about 0.004-20mg/kg/day as the active component. When the composition is animal feed, the content of the active component is about 0.1- 500ppm.
