PURPOSE:A correction solution that is composed of a white pigment, organic solvents, resins soluble in organic solvents and organic acids soluble in water, thus forming correction coating films which are rewritable with a water-based ink by means of, e.g., a fountain pen without color darkening. CONSTITUTION:The objective correction solution is obtained by using (A) a white pigment, such as titanium oxide, (B) an organic solvent, preferably boiling at 70-150 deg.C, e.g., n-heptane or cyclohexane, (C) a resin soluble in organic solvents such as acrylic resin or alkyd resin and (D) an organic acid soluble in water, preferably with a dissociation constant in water of pKa, less than 4.83 at 25 deg.C such as butyric acid, preferably at a weight ratio of A:B:C:D=(20-50): (30-60):(5-20):(0.1-2).
