<p>PURPOSE:To positin accurately a tape at a prescribed point by deciding the inertia of tape while the tape is wound and then stopping the tape at a precribed point after the tape inertia is decided. CONSTITUTION:A CPU28 supplies a control signal to a magnetic recording/reproducing device 10 to start a take-up action of a magnetic tape 12. The inertia of the tape 12 is calculated at a brake point and used to decide an accurate point when the device 10 is set under a pause mode. Then the tape 12 is positioned at a target. When the tape 12 is wound from one side to the other side, the tape is shifted to a take-up reel 16 from a supply reel 14. Therefore the brake pint is selected so as to get close to the target, and as a result the tape inertia is continuously changed as the tape is wound round the reel 16. The CPU28 produces a control signal after the inertia of the tape 12 is calculated at the brake point. As a result, the device 10 increases the speed of the tape 12 up to the prescribed maximum value VMAX.</p> |
