PURPOSE:To sled a band-shaped metal automatically at high speed by holding it with plural pairs of travelling bar-shaped clamping devices attached to the chains which move endlessly in a ring-shaped state in a cooling chamber consisting of upper and lower chambers, in cooling a band-shaped metal. CONSTITUTION:A cooling device 1 of a band-shaped metal S is constituted of an upper chamber 1a and a lower chamber 1b, and spaces G are disposed respectively between both chambers 1a, 1b and between the lower chamber 1b and a foundation 2. Driving sprockets 4a, 4b and driven sprockets 4c, 4d are arranged respectively at the ends of both chambers 1a, 1b and chains are circulated endlessly between the sprockets 4a, 4b and 4c, 4d. Plural pairs of opposing bar- shaped clamping devices 3 arranged at constant intervals are endlessly circulated by the chains through guide rails 8a, 8b and the tip of metal S is clamped at the inlet Z position and is cooled by moving it at high speed in the cooling device 1. The metal S is unclamped from the clamping device 3 at the outlet and is transferred to the next process by a conveyor 7. |
