PURPOSE:To secure the adsorbing performance between a magnetic head and a magnetic disk which is equivalent to a coated magnetic disk without using any special adsorption preventing device, by increasing the surface roughness of an air bearing part more than that of the magnetic disk. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic disk device contains a rotary magnetic disk 1 and a magnetic head 2 having an air bearing part. The surface roughness of the air bearing part is increased more than that of the disk 1. For instance, the disk 1 uses a plated medium magnetic disk (surface roughness: Rmax 0.02mum) and the surface roughness of the air bearing part of the head 2 is set at about Rmax 0.1mum. As a result, an adsorption phenomenon can be effectively reduced between the head 2 and the disk 1 without using any special adsorption preventing device that keeps a dry state inside the magnetic disk device. |
