PURPOSE:To obtain a floppy disk free from curl, surface unevenness and a crack and having high density recording characteristics by subjecting surfaces of a pair of polymer substrates each having a vertically magnetizable Co-Cr film on other surface to glow discharge in vacuum, and uniting the substrates to one body so that the surfaces subjected to the discharge face each other. CONSTITUTION:Each of a pair of tapelike polymer substrates 4, 4' has a magnetic layer such as a vertically magnetizable Co-Cr film on one side shown by an arrow E. The substrates 4, 4' are sent from a pair of feed rolls 6, 6', the surfaces of the substrates on which magnetic layers are not present are subjected to glow discharge with glow discharge devices 5, 5', and the surfaces are stuck together by pressng with a pair of press rollers 7, 8. The resulting film is wound around a winding roll 9. Since the stuck substrates bond together very firmly, the stuck surfaces are not stripped in practical use. When polyethylene terephthalate or polyamide films are used as the polymer substrates, the highest bonding strength is provided. |
