PURPOSE:To provide a coating liquid composed of an emulsion of ethylene/ vinyl acetate copolymer, a pigment, a filler and a thickener, and capable of forming an odorless coating film having excellent water-resistance, strength, etc. between the sprayed inner wall applied after the excavation of bedrock and the concrete layer covering the wall. CONSTITUTION:(A) An aqueous emulsion obtained by the emulsion polymerization of 40-5pts.wt. of ethylene, 60-95pts.wt. of vinyl acetate, and 60-0pts.wt. of a vinyl ester of a 9-11C branched fatty acid is compounded with (B) a pigment and a filler free from hardening tendency with water and (C) a tackifier to obtaon the objective coating liquid having viscosity of 20,000-150,000cps at 30 deg.C measured by a BH-type rotary viscometer at 10rpm. The ratio of the viscosity measured by the BH-type viscometer at 30 deg.C and 2rpm to the viscosity measured at 20rpm is 3.0-8.0, and the volume fraction of the solid resin component of the component (A) is >=40%. EFFECT:The liquid can be applied without causing sagging, and the obtained coating film is resistant to falling-off. Since the coating film has opaque white color, the uncoated part can be discerned easily.
