PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition giving artificial, marble, etc. resistance to the lowering of the performance, by reacting a specific metal hydroxide and an organic carboxylic acid under dehydration condition under heating, and compounding the obtained particles with a monomer mixture, etc. containing alkyl acrylate and a polymerization initiator. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be prepared by compounding (A) a mixture of polymerizable monomers containing alkyl acrylate or alkyl methacrylate as >=50wt% of the component, or a monomer mixture containing a polymer composed mainly of an alkyl acrylate or an alkyl methacrylate as a solute, (B) an active metal hydroxide composed of a metal hydroxide particle and an organic carboxylic acid salt bonded to the surface of said particle and obtained by the thermal reaction of II- or III-group metal hydroxide particle with an organic carboxylic acid under dehydrating condition, and (C) a polymerization initiator.
