The invention relates to an improvement to flexible hoses, especially to double-walled flexible hoses which may be used under water. The flexible hose is provided with a leak detector 4 which communicates with the hose 1, 2 by means of a fluid passage 9, 12 and, in order to allow an in situ assembly or removal of the leak detector without the penetration of water or another fluid between the walls of the flexible hose, a valve 11 is provided in the fluid passage, preferably placed between a rigid part 9 and a flexible part 12 of the passage; the valve is preferably a one-way valve in order to prevent a flow of fluid in a direction oriented from the valve towards the flexible hose.
