A self-starting reversible miniature synchronous motor has a permanent magnet rotor and a stator with a main and an auxiliary phase winding of the same electrical resistance. The auxiliary winding lies in parallel or in series to a capacitor. The rotor consists of high-energy low-remanence magnetic material. At the stalling torque with nominal supply voltage, the ohmic resistance of each stator winding equals max. 80% of its reactive resistance.
