PURPOSE:To improve the low-temperature starting performance of an engine with a simple apparatus, by providing a valve unit closing in response to the negative pressure in an intake pipe and the temperature of cooling water at an intermediate portion of a passage connected between the intake pipe and an auxiliary fuel tank. CONSTITUTION:A fuel control valve unit 1 is provided at an intermediate portion of a fuel passage 70, 72 extending from an auxiliary fuel tank 68 to an intake manifold 57 of an engine. The valve unit 1 includes a valve 8, thermo- wax 14 attached to expose in cooling water in water jacket 55, and a vacuum intake port 5 for introducing negative pressure in an intake port 56. At the time of low-temperature starting of the engine, the valve 8 is kept open by a spring 4 for supplying auxiliary fuel while the temperature of cooling water is low. On the other hand, when the negative pressure in an intake pipe is raised, the valve 8 is closed to stop supply of auxiliary fuel. Further, as the engine is warmed up gradually and the temperature of cooling water is raised, the thermo-wax 14 causes volume change and closes the valve 8 by forcing the same upward. Thus, supply of auxiliary fuel is stopped. |
