PURPOSE:To ensure sufficient developed color density and color forming sensitivity and enhance stability with time, by incorporating an electron-donative colorless dye, an electron-acceptive compound and a specified asymmetric diether derivative. CONSTITUTION:The electron-donative colorless dye is a triarylmethane, a diphenylmethane compound or the like, and the electron-acceptive compound is a phenol compound, an organic acid, an inorganic acid or the like, preferably, a phenol compound. The asymmetric diether derivative may be a compound of formula (I), wherein Ar is an aromatic ring, R1 is a -8C bivalent group, and R2 is a -15C cyclic group consisting or nonmetallic atoms. The derivative may have substituent groups such as alkyl, allyl and ary. The thermal recording material comprising said derivative shows little lowering of color forming sensitivity with time and little fogging, and developed color images have sufficient fastness. |
