PURPOSE:To enable a higher working efficiency, accurate selection of measuring points and stable contact of a contactor by generating an audible sound with the frequency varying corresponding to the deviation of a measured value from the set threshold value. CONSTITUTION:Surface and bottom echo signals from an object to be inspected are received with an ultrasonic probe 1 and transmitted to a pulse counter 4 as a time gate opening/closing signal through a pulse receiver 2 and a flip flop 3 to count reference clock pluses. The results are multiplied with an arithmetic circuit 7 signals from the pulse counter 4 and a sound velocity setting circuit 6 to obtain the thickness of the object being inspected, which is compared with the thickness threshold set by a thickness threshold value setting circuit 9 by a comparator circuit 10. An analog voltage proportional to the deviation is sent to a voltage control oscillation circuit 11 to generate an audible sound signal varying corresponding to the voltage value and an audible sound is outputted from a sound generator 12 such as speaker or ear phone. |
